and poetic, but the attempt has been made to keep true to the meaning of

Awoken in shadows
The dawn-bird's feathers an ashen black
Burned by the light, burned to cinders
My evening's ablutions become my waking ones
And the morning greeting of dawn the lover's embrace of dusk

Hear me, shadows between the stars!
I implore thee, that blackness between the points of light!
All-pervasive, everywhere I may look
Between the stars like shadows always
It is within the shadows we walk.

For what are the depths of hyperspace but the ultimate shadows?

Hear me, shadows between the stars!
I cast off my facade of light
Take off my mask of luminous aether
Behold I stand before you, arms upreached
A shadow amongst shadows
A shadow beneath shadows

I am become a shadow
O shadows, I am one of you!
I consume the light ere I am consumed
Face my struggle against the fires of morn
As I descend deep, deeper unto the abyss of the soul
Within there, O shadows, may I find my true self
